The Marías enchanted a captivated audience at The Tabernacle in Atlanta with a performance that felt like a dream woven into reality. The historic venue, with its grand architecture and superb acoustics, provided a stunning canvas for the band’s immersive and ethereal show. The Marías’ sold-out concert at The Tabernacle was a beautifully orchestrated event that highlighted their ethereal artistry and deep connection with their audience. The immaculate stage design and singer María Zardoya’s personal connection with Atlanta contributed to an unforgettable first night of two back-to-back shows in the city.
María Zardoya was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico but was raised in Snellville, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. This made her performance in the city particularly poignant for everyone in attendance. The highlight of the evening was the emotional presence of María’s parents in the audience. In a deeply personal moment, María performed her mother’s favorite song from the new album, ‘Sienna,’ for the very first time and dedicated it to her.
The Marías’ latest album, Submarine, is a captivating journey through dreamy soundscapes and lush melodies. Released this past May, the record showcases the band’s signature blend of indie pop, R&B, and Latin influences, wrapped in an atmospheric, immersive production. Hearing the album live for the first time was an otherworldly experience, accompanied by the breathtaking stage design and the band’s heavenly presence.
The stage was transformed into a serene, otherworldly space that perfectly mirrored The Marías’ signature sound. A giant glowing orb was the centerpiece, creating delicate silhouettes and an elegant atmosphere throughout the show. As the night unfolded, the atmosphere at The Tabernacle became a celebration of sound and light, with the audience swaying to the infectious rhythms. María’s interactions with the crowd, filled with warmth and sincerity, created an inviting space where everyone felt a part of the musical journey.
The concert was not only a showcase of musical talent but a beautifully curated experience that highlighted The Marías’ unique blend of emotive performance and captivating demeanor. As the final notes faded and the crowd dispersed, it was clear that The Marías had left an indelible mark on Atlanta, making their back-to-back Atlanta shows a truly unforgettable highlight of their tour.
