Y-Y-Y-Y-ANKEEE WITH NO BRIM!!!!

New Jersey’s own Public Access dropped no brim on Friday the 13th, adding a fresh chapter to their evolving discography.

It’s funny. It’s candid. It’s Yankee, with no brim

The EP is comprised of three songs; “no brim,” “cat gotcha tongue,” and “word life.” All three songs are about saying what you want to say and being who you want to be.

Each tackling the theme from different angles on no brim, Ryan Puharic wrote the title track “no brim,” Josh Skoudis wrote “cat gotcha tongue,” and Alex Giarretta wrote “word life.”

Other members of Public Access include Jonah Levin and Liam Muhler.

no brim is an invitation to embrace authenticity and individuality.

By removing the constraints that a “brim” represents, we allow our true selves to shine through, illuminating the path to deeper connections and a more genuine existence.

Ryan put his friend in a monkey suit at the beach to promote the project. Eric Giraldo ran around Asbury Park beach in the monkey suit while Ryan filmed, turning heads and just fully embracing it.

I also spoke with Josh who asked me my favorite song from the EP– I naturally said “cat gotcha tongue.” He replied, “Let’s goooo!”

To emphasize the no brim mentality, Ryan is making hats with– shocker— no brims. He’s also embroidering them with “no brim” or “public access.” I asked for one that says “nobrim.jpeg,” so I will get back to y’all on that.

Safe to say, these guys are wild.

I listen to Public Access for many reasons. I love their sound, and I’m also friends with the band. But what draws me in most is how I connect with their lyrics and themes.

The soundtrack to my college years is filled with my friends’ music, each track resonating with this transformative time of life.

Pinegrove sings, “We’re good at things and so are a lot of our friends,” in their song “Size of the Moon.” It feels special to be surrounded by genuine people, all of us doing what we love.

Listen to no brim on Spotify, or wherever you get your music!
