Flo Petite Opens Up SoFar Sounds in Brooklyn

What felt like the most angelic night in New York, up and coming artist Flo Petite opened up Carroll Hall in Brooklyn for Sofar Sounds. If you are not familiar with Sofar Sounds, they are an organization that started in London hosting private shows. They aim to discover new sounds and create a more intimate experience between artists and their viewers. Now hosting shows all around the world, I was able to catch one in New York. The lineup included the following three artists: Flo Petite, Sagami, and Walky Wah, who each very much had their own sounds.

Starting out the night with some melancholic indie rock, Washington, D.C. local Flo Petite played all of her top hits along with a new song that is set to come out soon. The crowd was hypnotized by the ongoing guitar strums along with her soft and relaxed voice. If you are looking for some new girl-powered soft rock, we recommend checking out Flo on all platforms!

Continuing the night with some hyperpop beats was Brooklyn local artist Sagami, who also is a music instructor for people with disabilities. Sagami had the crowd moving their heads all around in their seats. Playing mostly originals, he also welcomed a student of his to perform two covers. Check out their sound here if you like hyperpop meets tame impala and LCD Sound System.

The closing act Walky Wah, also a Brooklyn local, had the crowd up and moving by the end of the night with some original rap songs. He had the crowd chanting along to the chorus of a new song titled “Outside”. If you are in need of a new creative freestyle rap artist, definitely check him out.

We hope to cover more Sofar shows in the future, as this was such a beautiful way of discovering new music from the areas people call home.
