The Backseat Lovers Waiting To Spill Tour

This past summer The Backseat Lovers took over North America with their Waiting to Spill tour, making a stop in Pittsburgh, Pa on July 26, 2023. The scorching summer heat did not stop fans from forming lines at 10AM so that they could get to the barricade for the show. After many hours of intense sunshine and little to no shade, the gates of the venue opened. As the sun began to set, The Backseat Lovers took to the stage and concertgoers were met immediately with their beautiful acoustics, feeling like a breath of fresh air.

The performance had a balanced blend of songs from their newest album Waiting To Spill, mixed with classic fan favorites including “Pool House,” “Pictures,” Kilby Girl,” and “Maple Syrup.” The band even threw in a new song! Lead vocalist and guitar player Joshua Harmon paused to announce to the crowd that it was only their second time playing it. The other members, including Juice Welch on drums and background vocals, Jonas Swanson on guitar and background vocals, and KJ Ward on bass guitar all acknowledged the crazed fans cheering them on. The lighting changed to resemble what felt like being underwater, while the crowd paused in awe to take in the unheard song.

The Backseat Lovers know how to put on a show, both for their fans and for those who may have just heard them for the first time. Even with the hot temperature outside, the band knew how to adjust their performance to ensure the safety of the crowd while still having an exciting show.

Having dates all over the world for the Waiting to Spill Tour, The Backseat Lovers is a band we highly recommend going to see live. If you ever get the chance to see them, take it. Their live performances are filled with an indescribable energy that is shared among everyone present.
